The "Seven Nourishing Tips" in the ancient health-preserving masterpiece "New Book of Longevity, Relatives and Elder Care"
There is a "Seven Nurturing Secrets" in the book "New Book of Longevity and Prosperity for Elderly Care" written by Zou Xuan of the Yuan Dynasty, which says: "One is to speak less to nourish the true energy; the second is to abstain from sex and desire to nourish the essence; The third is to nourish the blood and qi with a thin taste; the fourth is to swallow body fluids to nourish the qi of the internal organs; the fifth is to avoid anger and irritation of the liver qi; the sixth is to eat well to nourish the qi of the stomach; and the seventh is to think less and nourish the qi of the heart." It is thought-provoking to read.
①Speak less to nourish Qi. Speech less means to avoid speaking hastily, quickly, and chattering endlessly. Zhenqi is also called "righteousness". Various functional activities of the human body and the ability to resist disease are related to zhenqi. Therefore, zhenqi is the driving force for human life activities. If a person often chatters or yells, his lung energy will be consumed, which will affect the normal function of the respiratory organs, resulting in insufficient healthy energy in the body, allowing external evils to take advantage of the weakness and causing all kinds of diseases.
② Abstain from sexual desire and nourish the essence. Abstaining from sexual desire means to exercise restraint in sexual intercourse. Indulging in lustful postures and not exercising restraint in sexual intercourse will inevitably lead to depletion of semen and dissipation of true energy, which can lead to premature death or premature aging. Excessive sexual intercourse mainly consumes people's essence, and essence is the foundation of health. The loss of essence shakes the foundation of life, so health and longevity are difficult to guarantee.
③Banziwei nourishes blood and Qi. Baozhiwei refers to eating more vegetables, fruits, and light vegetarian foods, and eating less fatty meat, spirits, spicy, and fatty products. Coveting rich food, being addicted to fine wines and delicacies, eating fish and meat all day long without caring about it will definitely harm your body. Eat less meat and don’t be greedy. Don’t eat too much food, especially not too salty.
④ Throat body fluid nourishes internal organs. Body fluid refers to saliva. The ancients believed that body fluid is the essence of the human body. In non-eating situations, often use your tongue to stir in the mouth, so that the water in the body rises to the mouth, turns into saliva (body fluid) through the salivary glands, and then slowly swallows it, which has a good effect of nourishing the internal qi.
⑤Don’t be angry with liver qi. It means that you must keep your qi in a harmonious state and don’t get angry casually. Otherwise, the liver qi will continue to rise and the liver qi will go up and down. At the same time, the blood will go up and down with the qi, causing liver qi to be unsparing. This can cause damage to the liver. If you are often angry about trivial matters in life, or even violently violent, your anger will cause chaos, causing your mind to lose control, imbalance of yin and yang, disharmony between qi and blood, obstruction of meridians, organ dysfunction, leading to illness, and even sudden death.
⑥ A beautiful diet should nourish the stomach and Qi. A beautiful diet means that the diet structure must be reasonably matched. From ancient times to the present, people have fully realized that different foods contain different nutrients. Only a comprehensive and reasonable combination can The human body can obtain different nutrients to meet the needs of various physiological functions. In daily life, grains, vegetables, fruits and meat are the main components of the diet. Only a combination of meat and vegetables with balanced nutrition can nourish stomach qi.
⑦Think less and nourish the spirit. This means not to think randomly when you are free. People must have something to think about and have to worry about. However, thinking too much will lead to sadness and loss of life. In daily life, we should think deeply and worry less, especially regarding personal gains and losses, reputation, status, material money, etc. We should not be too anxious to seek and worry too much, so as not to lose our psychological balance and affect our health.
